I was there too, we later built and filmed the miniatures (plane and billboard etc.) in Munich.
It was truly crazy to see the first news about 911 happening 2 days after the spot aired... but they pulled it within hours, at least very very quickly. I don't remember seeing the commercial after I saw the news about what had happened in NY

@Caellest89 Going from the materials I read at the time, Telegate was using the plane as a symbol of destroying their old slogan of "Da werden sie geholfen", as this commercial was supposed to introduce a new marketing strategy for Telegate, and the new slogan "Die kennt sich aus-kunft".
The timing for this spot, however, was quite unfortunate, as no one would have expected that people would do something very similar to what is depicted here in real life.

I remember this shooting, I'm the blonde guy of the advertising, we make this spot on 11th July.

On 11th July? Interesting! But the computer-animations took a few weeks. So the final version was finished on september 2001.
