Animal Collective has a visual album called Oddsac. It is the most similar thing to this I have seen, but their movie is a lot darker.

My friend (an artist) described this as the closest you can get to explaining the process of drawing to someone who doesn't draw ;)
Takagi is great; perhaps one of the most original of modern artists. 5 stars!
