  • she feels what she is singing - and so do I ... best rendition of this song I've heard...

" I can't stand too much of this song" - says it all

  • I couldn't help sobbing...... Her singing wholeheartedly expresses the agony and hope of African-American people of "dark those days".

What's more, I've never realized that a song can be sung so freely - it truly matches the theme of "freedom".

I'm a Japanese listener, but I must say, no Japanese singer can "imitate" Ms. Marion William's way of singing. She is a soul of Gospel itself !!

  • @Imagirl36 I really liked this rendition. It was sung with a lot of emotion. I don't care for gospel artists who sing with no emotion or feeling. I think if you truly believe in the words you are singing then it must be sung with emotion.

  • @Imagirl36 Marion in her heyday would have ran all over the place, but since she was unable to even stand she could only hold her face she was very very ill at this point in her life.

  • im a christian but i doo not like this in the slightest way. you don't have to hold your face and make a big show to worship God. in my opinion this rendition is impossible to worship to because of the way it is performed

  • She's amazing and I love her voice. God bless ms. Marion!

  • @kaylainpurple Well you're in the same boat as me. You're going to hell according to countless other religions, so you should be really hoping that your religion is correct somehow. Atheists don't care what crap people believe in, but when it interferes with their lives, then they get pissed off. Like people killing other people in the name of religion or people discriminating others in the name of religion. This is very common in the world, and this is why many atheists need to argue.

  • @kaylainpurple Because I know what I believe and what happens to people that don't, I don't see this as wasting time, it's never a waste of time, could even call it an act of cruelty not to spend some time at it.

  • @BuyaahKazan Don't waste your time arguing with this kid. You know what you believe, and what happens to people like that.

  • @ItsOneInAMillion You know what? If you're right, why do you care? Why waste your time arguing? I never understood that about atheists. According to your belief, you'll just die and it'll be over with. According to my belief, you'll die, and your time after won't be too happy. You should cross your fingers and hope you're right, because the punishment for people like you is pretty bad. Since you're an atheist, maybe you should go to, say, atheist videos, and stop annoying the Christians.

  • @ItsOneInAMillion Reading your comment I get the feeling it's not a matter of acknowledging the truth, but more one of not wanting to accept it, you'll find an excuse to not believe even if you would seen JESUS get up from the grave.

For this song on guitar you're looking at the wrong video, search for the version by Johnny Cash or Willy Nelson

  • @BuyaahKazan a whole bunch of people who lived in the dark ages that he was/is the son of god. I don't think it would've been too difficult considering that people in those days thought the world was flat, that the sun revolved around the earth, who didn't know how disease occured, who didn't know most other basic science that we do today.

So its no surprised that they believed in magic and god and other ridiculous things. We should be well past that. Especially living in the 21st century.
