Also you'll notice that the industrialisation of the earth changes the rock from a benign rock to a lethal spiked one that injures what is presumably an industrialist.. this keeps in tone with the idea that the pillaging of the earth will change it from a benign enviornment into a deadly one...or else I'm just way off... either way at least I tried to figure the fucked up thing out!

I would guess this: The video shows the ephmeral live of humans compared to the earth itself. The band (the workers) are harnassing the earth via the machine to produce some sort of power. Then the earth swallows them up leaving no trace of their existence symbolising that even though we hurt the world we live in and pillage it, it will exist long after we are gone. Then, the personification of the earth saves the bearded fella which shows us that the earth can create and destroy...

I suggest you read "The Secret History of the World" by Jonathan Black- it talks about every single weird idea that this video seems to depict- and therefore this video SORT OF makes sense to me... after reading that book.
