I agree with George about the knee pads and hay stack switch. The 'witness' audience at the top are probably stooges (often used in big illusions) and the car is adapted to allow the stunt double to roll out of the bottom or side in time with the camera angles.

It's a stunting, well-timed illusion. One of the best I've ever seen!

there is also a black sheet over the hay bales so a person could be under there

From 3:54 to 4:05 you can not see the back right hand side of the car so i guess the stunt man exists there.

I reckon he escapes from some secret trapdoor in the car seconds after he was shut in, with the help of some others, and the audience at the top were paid to go along with it and act suprised

At 2.43 the camera goes down. What you see there: Craig sitting on his knees, and another person lying 'underneath' him. So it's the other person who's being taped. When the camera is pointed at his feet, Craig gets into the helicopter, and the other person stands up, for when the camera goes back up.. Then they put him in the back of the car, and while the camera moves to Stuart putting the brick, the other person slips out via a hole in the trunk.. Perfect timing..

And tbh... the explosion looks like a small firework, its extinguished seconds later... and no flames, so the double doesnt die, my guess is the double has an air pack and is escapes later that evening.. or there is divers in the water that rescue him without being seen

@sumeee95 also... the video starts during sunlight, but they wait till its darker before starting the illusion, why? Only reason would be to make it harder for the "audience" not to see the swap & they could also be actors that have been paid not to see it... its been done in the past

@sumeee95 no, their view is blocked by 1. The car, and 2. The camera crew, and possibly even 3. They might be to far away for a "clear" view, or even 4. Might not actually be an audience... since it wasnt broadcasted live (location illusion)
