Browning 22 BAR rifle. Really a great shooting rifle. Its very light and accurate. Its a great pack gun also because the barrel very easily seperates from the receiver in just a quarter twist

  • SA-22 meaning Simi Auto 22 but in the Browning book it actually says BAR-22 also. I do know what you are saying about the BAR 308 military rifle as well though.

  • The Browning built the BAR 22 and BPR 22 in several grades and 3 types.

Type 1: steel reciever, pistol grip stock.

Type 2: aluminum reciever, pistol grip stock.

Type 3: aluminum reciever, straight grip stock.

  • MegaBar22 got it right. The BAR 22 is not a SA 22. The BAR 22 magizine tube is under the barrel just like the BL 22. The SA 22 magizine is in the stock. I collect both because both are very good rifles. I also collect the BPR 22, pump rifle. It uses the same butt stock, reciever, barrel, magizine, and other common parts as the BAR 22. Browning 22 rifles are all fun to shoot.

  • i have one there a really reliable gun i love it

  • I own a sa-22 and a bar-22 and a bar 30-06 so i'm pretty sure they are 3 totally different rifles,just sayin' look em up.signed slightly sarcastic smartass

  • where did you get your scope

  • I inherited a bunch of guns, and one of them is the Interarms copy of the Browning. Do you know where I can get a manual? I just need to get the exact dial in on maintenance and cleaning and whatnot before I shoot it.

  • Actually, it's a SA-22. The BAR is a full automatic rifle from WWI and WWII. I've got one too, and they are excellent guns indeed. In my opinion that and Remington's Speedmaster 552 are the nicest .22s still made today.
