@nondescriptnyc I agree, but while the judges loved him around 82/83, he never really came close to threatening Scott Hamilton at Worlds. Yes he had some non traditional moves but non traditional can also be ugly n I have to say I thought his moves were ugly. Never really a fan as you can tell (LOL!) and I was delighted when Fadeev and Cerne beat him in 84 Euros.

@npe1　Yes, that was a 2A, but Schramm had planned a 3A there that season. I never saw him land one, but everyone was talking about how he would be unbeatable if he gets a 3A into his routine.

I, too, prefer Cerne's skating, but the judges absolutely LOVED Schramm between 82 and 83. Schramm DID change the sport w/ his non-traditional approach, still... I was delighted, though, when Cerne unexpectedly placed 2nd at 84 Euros!!!

ich finde auch total cool an ihm, dass er irgendwie immer lacht... während andere bei ihrer kür voll konzentriert gucken würde, grinst er sich halt mal einen ab :D

@Eltje72 Du hast doch keinerlei Ahnung - meide den Bereich des Eiskunstlaufenss lieber bevor Du weiterhin einen solch "unqualifizierten Mist" schrebst ! Rudi Cerne hat doch wohl nicht im geringsten Die Leistungen von Norbert Schramm erreicht - oder etwa doch? Wie hässlich muss man erst selbst sein wenn man solche Töne anschlägt???!!!

The commentator gets it wrong at 1:00. He says Norbert does a triple axel (dreifach) when in fact he only does a double. However, this was probably Norbert's best performance, although personally I always preferred Rudi Cerne's skating - smoother, more classical and artistic in the style of John Curry. I have to say I cringe at that final spin Norbert does - it might have been innovative but it was bloody ugly!

Wow, after this strong skate, he skated really poorly at the Helsinki Worlds. By the way, I still can't believe the highly conservative Erich Zeller trained him...

Norbert ist ein solch talentierter Künstler. Als Eisläufer war er schon immer ein unglaublich starker Athlet mit sehr viel Stil, tollen Choreografien und einer super Ausstrahlung.

Ich habe ihn gerade in Schwäbisch Gmünd auf Tournee mit dem russischen Eiszirkus gesehen und war erstaunt, wie er so kraftvoll und immer noch jugendlich wirkt und jetzt sogar noch mehr Ausdruck hat. Sehr sexy und attraktiv. Er ist selber ein paar Nummern gelaufen. Bravo! Nach wie vor Weltklasse!

ich fand norbert schramm nie besonders toll und zudem auch noch hässlich :-) und mit seinen komischen pirouetten ist er speziell zum schluss doch wohl allen auf die nerven gegangen, oder ....da lob ich mir rudi cerne und brian orser !!!
