I'm starting a band with some friends of mine, the oldest who's 17 wants to go for a 'metal' approach to songwriting. The rest of the band don't, we can't make him leave the band because he's a good singer, he's my friend and he can get us into some good venues :D the rest of us like slightly softer and some classic rock. Would it be good to have a blend of metal and also stuff like GN'R and Jimi Hendrix? Is that even possible to come up with something completely new? Sorry this is so long!

Hey Kole, looking forward to this. Im a fan from UG of your videos so should be good. Anyway you touched on it already but yeh id like to know the pro's and con's of a music uni as I plan that as my choice after school. Also how many options are there for a musician after that? What exactly would a degree give me in the way of options? I know it might not be fully relevant as im an australian but im sure it will have some. Anyway looking forward to this.
