There is some speculation & reliable sources that still say Elvis did meet Marilyn Monroe -- more than once when they were on the same movie lot making separate films & would often run into each other & speak. This is also true of John Wayne, who was seen talking with Elvis on the backlot in the 60's. Elvis was supposed to play a Texas Ranger in a Wayne film (Glen Campbell got the role) -- "True Grit." I was told the only reason Elvis did not play it -- a schedule conflict.
It's such a sad song. Giants, idols and their lives, along with so many other creative geniuses, ended all too early. So glad Leon is still rockin steady and goin strong!! Hail to the MOSAT!
