2010 Professional Tarpon Tournament Series Week 1 Video News Release - REC Media Group

It's May in Boca Grande, FL and that means Tarpon Season has arrived. The first of a six part series, Week #1 sponsored by Sea Hunt Boats kicked off the 2010 Professional Tarpon Tournament Series, Presented by Yamaha.

After a year off, the teams wasted no time in diving right back into the action. The first hook up of the season happened just minutes after the start of the tournament and the action never slowed.

One of the biggest surprises came with the size of the fish weighed in. It's unusual to see really large tarpon this early in the season, but some talented anglers brought in the big ones.

In the end, it was John McLay's team Aeon Marine / Outta Line with a 210 pound tarpon that won Week #1 and took home a brand new Sea Hunt XP 21 Bay Boat with a Yamaha F150 four stroke motor.

210 pounds was the largest tarpon ever weighed in during a week one PTTS event.

Week #1 also marked the start of the 2010 Skeeter Team of the Year Race. John McLay's first place finish also landed him in first place for Team of the Year with 410 points. Chuck Jenks' all female team, Les Femmes Fatale, took second place with 379 points. Third place honors went to Cody Chivas and team Salt Rock Grille with 327 points.

The teams have seven days to regroup and strategize before heading into the next event.
