Skate (Freakylinks)

This FOX television series flopped after a single season (2000-2001). The premise: a twenty-something (Derek Barnes played by Ethan Embry) takes over his presumed deceased, twin brother's web site to explore the paranormal and possibly discover the truth about his brother's death. The series was intelligent and funny, but most importantly, innovative. This web site paralleled the television series. (If Derek uploads a diary entry or a video shot with his camcorder on the episode, it shows up on the web site). This is one of the clips downloaded from the original site.

Yep. The clips are taken out of context, so people who haven't seen the show probably won't get it. Fortunately haxan has archived Fox's original website. I remember the site being up long before the show ever aired. The community and back story provided by the actual show was a pioneering move. I remember finding the site and actually emailing "Derek" and receiving a reply (which I still have). This was before I realized it was a ficticious concept.
