A couple Osaka University students came to Taiji on their own and we met them at the Lookout while waiting on the 12 fisherman boats to come back to port. They gave their opinions on the dolphin slaughter.
@Zeruju I'm glad you made the connection between the cruelty committed against dolphins and that of livestock. You sound like a vegan!
There is one difference though... dolphins are wild animals, they are not artificially replaced like chickens, cows, etc. I don't see anyone farming dolphins, do you? Lets compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges... not dolphins to chickens. Okay?
Thanks for the insult. You're intelligence is only surpassed by your humor. :)
@rexray23 All this stupid 21st century babble. Killing dolphins is not more or less animal cruelty than killing cows and chicken. So hopefully Japan will continue it's cetacean hunting activities.
Btw: The Bell Curve shows Japanese people are more intelligent than Americans and most Europeans. And people like you are proof. :)
There is a growing sentiment within Japan that animal cruelty is not acceptable. I'm happy to see more local residents joining the fight to bring Taiji into the 21st century. Thank you, Bob for promoting communication and understanding while also standing up for the animals. Some cultural traditions hold value in our modern society while others, like the dolphin slaughter, must be allowed to expire.
They tweet that they went to Taiji to eat dolphin & whale meat. They might become less against Sea Shepherd, but they admit they'll certainly keep eating. They learned that you guys are not against the eating habit... lol
I appreciate your civil discourse with these young men, Bob. Education is the answer, not demonization of those who have known a different way of life. Thankyou for helping raise consciousness with the next 'generation of political decision makers' in Japan...hopefully these students will go away with an open mind to greater consideration for dolphin freedom from captivity, brutality, etc...they are the ones we most need to have onside!!
Great job // Tanx and good luck

@rexray23 (1) The only animals I wouldn't eat are cats and spiders, since I adore the former and detest the latter ones.
(2) Dolphins being wild animals not breedable doesn't make them more worthy of protection. So I will stick with comparing dolphins to chickens.
(3) If you are insulted by bare facts, it would be a great idea to refrain from posting on the internet.
(4) Yes, indeed! My intelligence is only surpassed by my humor. :)
