PIC update: First, unplug the power supply. You should avoid static electricity when handling the board.
Try touching some metal that is grounded before handling the internal circuit board.
1) Pull off the 8 knobs
2) Remove the 6 black screws and remove the bottom cover.
3) Remove the 6 screws holding the circuit board, and remove the board.
4) Before removing the old PIC processor, note the orientation of the processor the notch in the end is
facing up, and the little dimple for pin 1 is next to the U7 designator on the board.
5) With a flat-blade screwdriver, carefully pry out the old processor from its socket alternate from one
side to the other.
6) Place the new processor in the socket:
Be sure that the orientation is correct notch is up!
Also make sure there are no bent pins and that all pins are securely in the socket, and the IC is fully
seated in the socket.
7) Place the board back in the box, being careful to make sure the LEDs are in the holes.
8) Replace all the screws and knobs.
Nice vid! Always wanted to see inside but didn't want to void my warranty yet - There isn't much to it on the inside though - I guess the days of synths full and bursting with components are over.
