Cutting dead Tan Oak over nature trail at Salmon Creek School in Occidental, Ca, working with a grant from Save The Redwood League. This is dangerous work, if you intend to do this work yourself use all safety gear and keep looking up as tops regularly break off. Or call me! • Agrifos's reliability is still up for debate but, you are right, it is the only approved treatment. Agrifos can only work if it is used preemptively, a couple years before SOD comes into the area and in conjunction with removing Bay Laurel located within 10 meters of the tree to be saved. As far as using it with Tan Oak...we will see. Tan oak can sporilate on it's own leaves making it much more susceptible to SOD than Coast Live Oak. Thanks for Commenting

  • works best if applied prophylactically- I developed it in 2000 see treatsuddenoakdeathcom

  • The only reliable treatment for sudden oak death is agrifos
