@cornwallsteve I suggest you actually listen to what Driscoll says in the video, rather than cherry-picking the one phrase which, out of context, says something very heretical indeed.
The unregenerate human heart does not want God. And the Christian gets Him (of course, the heart is regenerated and desires changed). So, he's right. The Christian is the only human who does not get the damnation they've begged for with their sin.

Uh Thanks God for this wonderful gift of Heaven, I am really loving it! It is the best thing I have ever experienced in my life and I get it for an eternity though I deserve worse. What about these other people though, that were passed over? I was no better than them in either actions, thoughts, or orientation to you. Um thanks but are you just going to let them suffer? Don't think I'm not greatful. I am very grateful. I am just sad and tortured inside of myself. I don't understand

Sorry for the auto fill in the next statement

And in who He did foreknowledge, He did predestination.

God does not love us more than those that have committed blasphemy of the Holy Spirit,. Unfortunately, we seal our fate of eternal separation when we purposely rebel.

Did Satan (former lucifer) fall from his perfect creation? There is not a lot to go within the scriptures. Provided this account is accurate, the cases between us and him are quite different, with the exception of those who have blasphemed the Holy Spirit. In the O. T., there was no forgiveness for those that willingly sinned and turned from God after being a Jew, only presumptuous sins were forgiven. Satan knew God and turned against Him "in heart", Adam and eve did not turn purposely. As

@ilinamorato ~ we were dead SPIRITUALLY, yes. Physically, no. We started to die, but we were NOT dead physically. But, answer me this: they (Adam and Eve) ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, correct? How then can one distinguish from good and evil if one is ENTIRELY evil. In that case, we'd be no better than Satan. But did God choose to redeem Satan? Answer: Unequivocally, NO. But, He did choose to redeem us... why is that? Why does God love us more than Satan?

People need to really start reading the Bible in it's right context.

@billyhutchings, u r right, it hurts my stomach to hear the Word of God twisted in such a way. Mark only teaches on repentance and what we should not do, that's not the Gospel!!!! Christ has set us FREE from sin, new creation means ur not the old creation, ur no longer sin in Gods eyes.
Okay... sounds "theologically logical" from the outside. So, my next statement is this: most people are PREDESTINED FOR HELL. That's basically what Calvinism is saying. But Adam and Eve are created in His image right? Why would God choose to "love some and torment the rest"? Yes, I realize He CAN do this, but, the question remains: does a loving and merciful God predestine souls for hell? And how unregenerate is the human heart? We're still made in His image; there must be some good in us.

@intheechoofangels Adam and Eve were created in His image, but they marred that image. Like a broken mirror, we don't reflect God's image perfectly or fully. God, in His amazing grace, provided a way for us to return to Him.

What shall we say then? wIs there injustice on God's part? By no means! 15 For he says to Moses, x“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion,2 but on God, who has mercy.
Its not about us people - It's always been about HIS GLORY. We think God owes us something when we deny these scriptures.
