Covering up the atrocities committed in Kosovo against the non-Albanian population is ultimately a betrayal of hopes of building a civilised society in Kosovo itself, believes independent filmmaker Ninoslav Randjelovic.

  • Patriotism and Nationalism aren't very different at all. Nothing significantly distinguishes these from one another - the differences are minor and one is purely more acceptable than the other. But as you wish - was a good discussion nonetheless.

  • i think you're confusing nationalism with patriotism. two very different things. anyways, i don't want to get into this discussion. i'm done here and don't want any more part in it.

  • Britain wasn't nationalist - that idea goes against everything this country has nurtured. They were just as afraid to wave a flag 60 years ago as they are today. Empire is a source of conflict though and be under no illusions that the US controls nations just as Empires of old did but instead through Capitalism. The America of today is the Britain of the 1930s - and when a serious conflicts arises you will be dragged in due to your interests around the world.

  • i predict we'll still be a world power in 50 or so years. could only be about 20 if the economy doesn't improve. just remeber though that nationalism was a prime factor in both world wars and the balkan conflicts. it's dangerous and stupid, especially in these rough times. you know what happens when danger and stupid come together...people die.
