PANDIT AJOY CHAKRABARTY

Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty is
one of the most talented and
versatile vocalists of India. His
soft, soothing voice carries
an emotional appeal and
an ease of expression. He
has made a name for himself
in the fields of Khayal and
Thumri. Many consider him
to be the spiritual successor
to the late maestro, Ustad
Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and
a leading exponent of the
Patiala Gharana.

His musical education began
at the age of three from his
father. His vocal talents were
groomed under Shri Kanai
Das Bairagi, Pandit Gyan
Prakash Ghosh and from 1971
by Ustad Munawar Ali Khan,
the son of the great Patiala
Maestro, Ustad Bade Ghulam
Ali Khan.

Ajoy is a versatile genius,
being a teacher,
choreographer and a
music director. He is also the
director of 'Srutinandan', a
school of music he set up in
Calcutta, India.

  • Sainyaa literally means lover. Here, in this context, he is addressing god as his love.

  • Is anybody out there who understands Pandit Ajoy's language?

Tell at least whom is he praising in his song?

  • @macanckor I don't speak the language either, but a Bhajan is usually a song of praise for Krishna or one of the other major Hindu deities. --- Sorry, wish i could help out more :)

  • may pandit -ji have a long and happy life, this is brilliant comp is there a full version of this that i can get this.
