also the whole collegiate system providing players in the 20s to MLS side actually hampers youth development. when you have guys like lionel messi, cristiano ronaldo, wayne rooney, cesc fabregas, bojan krkic etc making the first team in their teens that shows that players who play for US colleges and universities actually lose precious competitive experience and training that can make them even better players.

i am confident MLS will become better as long as they focus a lot on youth development, getting flair talent from central & south america, as well as some european, african, and asian muscle in midfield in defence. they need to have a mix and match of local US/CAN players and international talent.
A 6+5 rule will be great. 6 US/Can players and 5 foreigners in an MLS starting line-up. football's a global game, and trust me such mix and match will make MLS a better league.

Garber did ok with the new rules. The best one is that one team only plays one tournament. He finally made the differnce between the two tournaments. CCL = Our version of UCL and SuperLiga = or version of Uefa Cup
