they are trying to make improvements at least on that one street at least between those few blocks.but the other 90% of overtown is still one of the poorest crime ridden areas in all of dade county. i worked around there not too long ago and it was one of the most depressing places i had to do. people just stare at you if your driving around and white, you can feel the hatred. they really dont mess with you but you dont feel safe.
this video is bullsht, the real overtown is NOTHING LIKE THIS

good description. but where is the bridge you speak of? i drove through OT this past friday night to get from one bar near brickell to another on the edge of OT, west of the WLRN studios....straight up NW 2nd Ave. at around 10:30-11pm and witnessed at least one blatant crack sale under the metro rail around 11th st...people wandering about on little bikes, etc....the place is a total nightmare.

why didnt u record the swamp, the bridge where 100+ homeless people live or ride around in the street at night where all the dope fiends walk around like the living dead???

Overtown is not what it once was. I don't live in the area, but I used to work downtown and I can assure you that overtown has improved tremendously. Thank you.

Amen! Thanks for your comment. I hadn't visited Overtown in a long time and I was amazed at what I saw. Thanks.

I welcome this positive and progressive momentum. They're clearly great endeavors that will have a good effect on this city. I look forward to more in the form of gentrification--all the while keeping in mind displaced low-income residents and small businessess that may be affected as a result of these changes.
