  • Very basic question here: at 8.50ish you say there are nine cards to make the flush, are you saying this because if we had two hearts there would be nine cards to make the flush with two on the board?

I am a little bit confused because obviously there are 11 hearts out there?

Thanks, enjoying the videos and learning about game theory...

  • @GameTheoryNoob :Thanks for your interest. That's a good catch which fortunately doesn't detract fr/ the point. Normally with a FD we have 9 outs. Here we are only going to represent a flush. We hold no hearts so there are, indeed, 11 remaining. But the important point is that we're not bluffing on any flush cards because then our bluffs would exceed our value bets. We want a 2:1 value to bluff ratio. We'll bet if the river is any of our 8 straight cards and will pick 4 flush cards as bluffs.

  • this is a bit complicated at the end with the poker exanple, i guess i gotto watch it again later

  • @PokerDavidD Thanks for clearing that up - and I understand the principle still remains, just wanted to be sure as I would like to learn about game theory applied to poker, so didn't want to confuse myself...

All the best, thanks for the vids.

  • Once money is in the pot it is not yours. The numbers are correct.

  • I think you have some of your numbers wrong. In the examples your including your own ante as profit. Fix that and you'll actually make a profit of $50 per 100 hands. Same idea though. Good vid.
