Transcendental Meditation is right up there with Scientology. A breeding ground for cults. Why aren't beards allowed on their campus when the Maharishi has one? They charge you $1500 to learn this "simple" technique. Why not donate it for free? They have enough multimillionaires hyping this stuff (McCartney, Simmons, etc), the should be able to fund it. Their website has no links to any "scholarships" they mention. A $ making placebo effect and nothing more. They wont even reveal their technique!

No diamond or bar of gold is perfect but it is a fool who throws them in the trash due to impurities.

It sounds like a lovely project.

He was given the sound but can't repeat it out loud?

@Chrley where do you learn it for free?

This defines Placebo effect.

@neukolnxyz I don't know how much it costs. Hopefully your objection is to paying for it not actually meditating. Meditation works to put things in perspective.

anyone considering learning TM should first read `Transcendental Misconceptions` by R.D Scott, also have a look at TM EX a website for disillusioned and `enlightened` ex meditators. you might just save a few quid and retain some dignity!!!!!

If everyone should learn this then why is it so damn expensive??? It's not fair that something so simple costs $1500+... and what about people like me who live in remote areas far away from any certified TM teacher? So frustrating!
His voice reminds me of Terence McKenna

The great contradiction of TM - the constant proclamation that it is "simple and effortless" but costs more than a thousand dollars to learn. This is where anyone with common sense screams, "Bullshit! Total. . . fucking. . . bullshit," to quote David Lynch (who was not speaking of TM at the time, but of product placement, just to clarify).
