Consider defaulting on your college loans.

Is this fruition of my college years,
arriving in an envelope, business-size,
Sallie Mae Corporation letterhead?
This is to inform you that you
havent made a payment on your loan
since the winter of, italicized, 1997.

If at this time you cannot make
the monthly payment we set,
youll be required to remit to us
the balance in full.
You know, I dont think Ill pay—
what kind of fool
would feed the beast that swallows its young?
Would feed the beast that swallows its young?

Clearly, eightteen isnt old enough to drink
but old enough to sign a promissary
interesting.
Military? Sure, join up.

And who can put a pricetag
on a top-notch education?
How about $50,000? $80,000? Well, thats
just for the textbooks.

But what exactly is the consequence
should I refuse to pay?
Is there still a Dickensian debtors prison?
Oh, there isnt? Well

If at this time you cannot make
the monthly payment we set,
well be required to revoke what every citizen fears:
your card for digging your hole deeper in debt
to the beast that swallows its young,
to feed the beast that swallows its young.

Everyone must go to university.
Without a good degree,
how will you pay the lenders
who staked you while attending university?
And everyone must grow the university.

This is to inform you that Ill never make a payment.
This is to inform you that Ill never make a payment
to the beast that swallows its young.

Haha, I re-revisited this video again :) it's still amazing, matt kresling I'm not sure if you remember this but you messaged me in 2009 saying that we should make this an annual thing. Well happy new years and I guess it's more of a bi-annual (is that the correct term?) thing now.

And I had only one really brilliant professor. The majority of them were mediocre to forgettable to shitty.

No, it's not free. Loans have to be paid back. That isn't free.

    3. Based on interest rates of student loans and the amount the loan is itself it is virtually impossible to pay off such a debt even in a reasonable amount of time without a sustainable career with a consistent salary typically with a job in the field of your study. And with the ratio of employed graduates versus unemployed even years after school (commonly because of the previous to points I made) even owning a home in 10-15 years is a pipe dream.

To cheeks music.. Your reasoning is not wrong and that is how society functioned "once apon a time" but the facts are... There are no jobs for the millions of graduates trying to enter the work force in the field in which they studied for a promising job that paid a decent salary. 1. Simply too much competition for jobs and not enough jobs. 2 there's no regulation on educational institutions providing realistic career training to match the facts of open job markets.

The best teachers in the world work incredibly hard to change your life and actually teach you something to make society better. I understand your logic that the interest rates on loans are too high...but you live in a country where loans allow you to go to school for free and learn from these brilliant minds FOR FREE with the hope that you'll pay it back eventually by actually using your education. If you "don't feed the beast," you're taking and giving NOTHING back. That's the real injustice.

Fake people get mortgages (which supports a financial bully), real men/women build their own homes (which supports the community), like the Amish. Usury is illegal. Usury is not something I am willing to tolerate.
