Why not skip a few of these so-called esteemed motion pictures and join me for a screening of the scrappy independent comedy "Love Stalker"? Come on, it'll be lots of fun and I'll be there in person! Not that anybody would go just to see me...

Stop by The Movie Reviewers 100 collab channel and subscribe! We'll have new videos up in just a couple of days:

I am definitely taking Brad Pitt up on his generous offer of pancakes.

  • ...does anyone outside of the US really care about the Oscars? I doubt it...it's become a bit of a farce. The best movies now are all foreign titles. 2011 was one of the most depressing years for US movies...I liked 'The Artist' and hope it wins.

  • @blurayffan66 - I think some people do, particularly in English-speaking countries...the problem is, the Academy puffs their chest out every year and makes so much noise it's nearly impossible to ignore.

If I had to pick a nominee to take the prize, I might go with Moneyball. Though it would be cool if The Tree of Life got it.

  • As for the snubs: I recently saw The Skin I Live In. It's fucked up, but I liked it, sort of the psychological equivalent of what I expect The Human Centipede is (haven't actually seen Centipede).

Didn't really expect her to get nominated, but I thought Elle Fanning's performance in Super 8 was some of the best acting I saw all year. Especially that scene on the platform, right before the train crash.

    50/50 was excellent as well.

Just watched the trailer for Love Stalker, it looks great!

  • @filmdumb - Elle Fanning...most adorable zombie ever. I liked Levitt and Rogen in 50/50...Kendrick and Howard, not so much (but I blame the way their characters were written).

I'm very proud of my friends for having completed their movie and giving us Chicagoans a chance to see it on the big screen!

  • Oh my god, I completely agree about Extremely Loud. I had zero interest in seeing that even before I started reading a lot of the terrible reviews. I actually haven't seen ANY of the Best Picture noms yet, but I will probably get around to seeing them all except for Extremely Loud. I honestly don't think The Help looks very good either, but I'm sure I'll eventually watch it if for no other reason than Emma Stone.

  • @efcdk92 - Excellent! I often read the print edition...I'll look out for it. Thanks for the heads-up!

  • @CineRam oh and if you're interested, empire has a list of oscar injustices for 2012 which i am not able to link you to for some unknown reason (error message) but it's on the main page of empireonline . com, found it a good read!

  • @efcdk92 - Let's hope 2013 will be better. Hard to imagine it could be worse.

  • @woodsy1234567890 - I wouldn't blame the movie...just the people who voted for it!

  • 50/50 was snubbed by Incredibly Loud and Extremely close. :C
