Final vid for the moment. This vid contains the 520rpm spin (the fastest the machine is capable of). The bearings will be replaced at some date, hopefully during the summer, whereupon i will make some new vids of it to show the difference.

  • You don't happen to have a Bendix Home Laundry washing machine do you (brown fascia and chrome door) or a Caravelle model from the 80's?

  • afraid not. I remember the caravell's in norweb. be great to see one again - methinks unlikely though.

  • You remember Caravell's too! My mum's neighbour had one, brown fascia, single dial with a little window showing the number of programme,a half load and spin cancel button. There were 13 programmes if I remember correctly, #13 being the final spin. I think they opened left to right too. Don't suppose you know what the spin speed was? lol

  • think you remember the one i saw as a nipper!

door open left to right, black filter cover, single dial with silver cover and 2 buttons....the Caravell DL500. spin speed only 500rpm.

  • Thanks for the video. Good machine u have there.

  • we are very proud of it. will be even better when it spins without the rumble of worn bearings. the induction motor is so very quiet.

  • Also my washer as the opening in center in the rubber of the porthole, only that mine is a Zoppas. The Hotpoint as it mark it is English?

The program M is made out of the wool from as i have understand, and immediately after the you last rinse, then to final spin or unloaded only whitout spin?

  • And it has a high water level too which is OK but what it needs to do is not overfill. It needs to learn when to stop filling but also to wash very well with the amount of water that it has. Thank u for uploading.

  • do u still have it?

  • Yep - its a Zanussi in disguise.

Story goes there was a factory fire at Hotpoint which reduced capacity. They concentrated production on their main 800rpm model and went to Zanussi for a couple of budget machines, coming back with a 380rpm cold fill machine and this, 520rpm hot and cold fill machine. Both were badged as 'Hotpoint Liberator' and received the purple styling of the 1970s hotpoints.

    cheers for the interest.

  • This machine is made by Zanussi :o
