This video was shot at last years Widnes Victoria Park Fair organ Rally.
I do not know the tune but i do know the organ is a superb example of Restoration by Anthony Cragg in 1977. This organ is fairly unique in that it has a lever that changes it from VB scale to the Gavioli G4 scale, so at any time, the organ can be returned back to it's original G4 scale, CLEVER HA

  • @ceredigio No,he was an independent arranger from Manchester who did arrangements for many organs,he also owned three Verbeeck organs, a friend of mine now owns his arranging barrel and cutting machine, look at my video of the Verbeeck organ "De Harmonique" on my channel, this was one of his organs playing some of his arrangements.

  • @petermackett37 Did John Payne work for Chiappa? His name is not familiar to me!

  • @ceredigio Yes,it is a Marenghi with a Gavioli front and it is a lot later than 1895,Marenghi didn't start till 1903!

  • @ceredigio The first tune was arranged by Arthur Prinsen and the second,Jan Kees de Ruijter,i would guess Daytrip to Bangor is a John Payne book.

  • @petermackett37 Isn't this organ actually a Marenghi?? or am I confusing it with Goff Radcliffe's? Oh and the front says it was built in 1890, when it was actually built in 1895!

  • @petermackett37 Do you know who did the arrangements? I heard it play 'the day we went to bangor' at dorset, do you know who made that one?

  • 0:02 Monsieur de Bourganville

    1:37 Scarlet and Gold March.

  • Great video Graham,
