The 'chinese' though, would make you a broomstick to fly on, provided they get to exploit workers, redesign it, substitute bad materials for good ones, and most of all, get your money.

Perfect for steam too. High torque engine.

@mushere2k9 Nah, I like speeding up stealthily.

@NearAbbeyRoad nope thats gecause of the combination between power and lifetime
if you push a motor up to hundret precent of its possible power the lifetime goes down
example take a 75 hp motor and chip tune it up to 150 hp (technical no problem) you drive not even 50 miles till its failure....

@NearAbbeyRoad i love the sound from a engine, i love the sound from my 1.6 8 valve car, it sounds quiet ballsy, whats the point of having lots of power if it dont shout about it? whats a ferrari without that iconic engine sound? to me, the revetec engine is pointless, so to many other people, it will be pointless, but to some who want a quiet engine, it will be usefull, butto many, abselute rubbish.

What are you on about? Noise. EVs are brilliant, love em. Nice and quiet. I hate noisy machines. Noise? Are you bonkers?
-
@NearAbbeyRoad but like i said, the rest of the 70% goes as noise and heat and all that, yeah the heat part isnt so good, but the noise bit is, when was the last time you drove an electric car and though, "hmmm this is nice"? not a lot of people, i love the sound of a huge V8 or a well tuned 4 cylinder, and to me, a fast car that dont make noise is useless, that revetec engine dont sound that nice at all, and lets be honest, this wont make it into production, just too expensive to make.

Does increased vibration occur from the opposing cylinder forces compared to a V-twin setup?

The camlobes transfer far more of the power from the pistons to the output shaft than any crankshaft.
-
Revetec have world record & getting 37.5%, not theoretical. What comes out of the wheels that matters.
Use the Revetec camlobes on the Ecomotors OPOC engine, with an electric clutch switching in modules to the engine loads and mpg rises dramatically. Ecomotors claim 50% better mpg using the electric clutch. That is only using an electric clutch to switch out parasitical pumping losses.
Also, a power sapping transmission is not needed
Combine the two, rid the g/box, and a WINNER is here
We have now independently tested the Revetec X4v2 engine at two facilities in Australia and Germany and hold the world record in gasoline engine efficiency of 37.5% or a BSFC 207g/(kW-h)
