  • i did the video to show people what laney amps "sound" like because not many people have heard them, i didnt put it up to show off my amazing abilities as aguitat player. if u dont like my playing then to each their own, i dont like your videos either.

  • guitar wise - its an ibanez sz320 all stock, tuned to CGCFAD

    amp - laney gh50l and marshall 1922 2X12 with g12t75, mesa 6l6 power tubes, stock pre tubes, bass 10, mids 4-7, treble 2-4, gain 5, drive 10,

    pedals - ns2, ts9 (on all the time) drive 0 level 10 tone 0.

it has to do with the angle of the mic on my laptop too, but ya it is a nice tone

  • the cabs a marshall 1922 2x12 with g12t75's or wat ever its called.

  • iv a boss ns2 with a compressor and tubescreamer in the loop of it. gain halfway then drive up full. theres a little hiss then. laneys have been known to be quite noisey :(

  • maybe, prob depend on the speaker and/or pickup combination. the gh50l isnt that modern sounding as a recto

  • dunno much bout zakk wylde, not a fan, but i heard one of ozzys new songs with wylde and id say it could do it. get a mxr 10 band eq and stick it in the loop and itll do anything u want

  • the laney gh50l and gh100l sound extremely similar to a peavey 5150.

  • @Chacoop I have a 5150 and a GH50L and they are completely different animals. Both are vicious as hell, but the GH50L wins for solos and the 5150 wins for rhythm tracks. They both do fine and are great on both, but that is my opinion since I have owned both for a fairly long time.

  • @nillox I reckon you have great tone as a muso I can tell that in the room it would sound enormous. Good job man, haters gonna hate!

  • would you recommend an overdrive pedal to be used with it? Or can it handle heavy distortion on it's own? :D

  • Ampeg Vl 501,502,1002 = TO DAY - LANEY GH50L .

  • Turn the gain down, and play real rock for goodness sakes. You mask the real tone of the amp with all that distortion, but tone doesn't really matter for crap metal anyway

No offense and the playing is fine

  • Laney-amps are maybe not the easiest to dail in, they are very much like old Marshalls and they will not cut you any slack. If you play sloppy, it sounds sloppy. I lent my GH50L to a friend whose into shredding and multi-FX. Of course he hated it because he had to play like a real man and couldn´t rely on alot of chorus and delay to mask his sloppiness. But I love it. And that´s the bottom-line.

  • i have a laney gh50l with 6l6s up on ebay right now. Just search laney gh50l.

  • Do you find that the 6L6s make the bass more "boomy"? I have this amp and I'm thinking about replacing the EL34s with 6L6s as I play metal.

  • it is possible to attain clean and lead tones in this amp like a two channels amp??..if your answer is yes, how can I do that??..greetings

  • Haha! No kidding man ... must be the cheese I'm eating at bedtime
