Part 3 is my favorite demo, the voice scrambler option (Voice Inversion Method), semi secure voice feature. 2 tone and 5 tone call feature (Paging). Final thoughts.
Perfect for the prepper, volunteer, public safety personnel, and amateur radio operators. Multi part series on the Chinese made TYT, TH-UVF1 Dualband radio in the VHF/UHF band. Comprehensive detailed review on this radio and its features.

Part 4 is bench testing the TH-UVF1, along with testing the rubber ducky antenna. Very boring, figured I would throw it in for the ultra nerds out there.

  • did you conver msk in another video?

  • @bben95 I mentioned it briefly, on my two radios, it wasn't working very well so I didn't cover it at all in detail. It will transmit MSK but not decode it like the other modes.

  • is 2 tone the same as fire tone?

  • @radiosification Never heard the term fire tone, I hear it refereed as quick-call in California. 2tone is what the Chinese Manufacturer call it, I don't know if its called 2 tone in Europe. The actual technical nomenclature in the industry here is refereed as 1+1 tone coding.

  • @GUERRILLAGEEK I think its meant to be called fire tone out maybe that why you didnt understand me.

here is a link to show what i was talking about

  • @radiosification Just watched he video, Yeah, they are the same thing but called something else. 2tone, 1+1, tone out, fire tone out, same stuff.

  • @Drumbum451 I've gotten a couple of PM's where the guy brought the gear and it was disabled, but the vendor advertized as it being active. the guy called them and the vendor was going to charge them a fee to enable the feature. it was a vendor in China. Yeah that among other reason @ the time was my deciding factor as well. ( of course only used when Society has temporarily taken a dump. Enjoy your new toys.

  • Does this handset requiere a strong signal in order to use the voice scrambler? I am asking because it's like that with my TYT th-2r. At range above 200yrds i can use the scrambler.

  • @GUERRILLAGEEK never mind i just realised you already mentioned it as paging

  • @celebritypaul Sounds like the f2 and f1series have some difference in options enabled. When I got my radios and downloaded the software, it was software version 1.22. I could not scramble or configure it, much like what you went through. I called the vendor and he has not updated the software to configure it, it was version 1.23. That configuration program opened up all the features it advertized. I've heared horror stories from other users about different versions of the same model.
