These 3 are among the strongest men that ever lived, and they all practised and put up tremendous poundages in the clean&strict press movement.None of the modern strongmen, powerlifters, and Oly lifters, enhanced with all the steroids available on the black market, could hope to match these 3 in strength. All of that being said, if you could include a cl&press or at least, a military press in you next workout goal vid, that would be really great and inspirational. You're a symbolf of hardwork Rod!

Doug Hepburn of Canada and Paul Anderson come to mind. Doug has done a 420lbs cl&strict press, and a 440 lbs off-rack, while Paul's all time best is around 485 lbs. And another Canadian, Louis Cyr, did an ancient press with 350 lbs using no leg drive whatsoever, with the weight never touching the body. Doug Hepburn has tried to press in this manner, and the man who could bring up 420lbs in the ordinary clean&military press could not, do more than 220 lbs in this style. ...

How many years have you been lifting Rod? Push pressing 205 lbsx2 with min leg drive at 185 lbs bw is really great. How much have you done with no leg drive at all. I personally believe the clean&military press of old is the ultimate test of upper body strength. The most powerful men in history of mankind are excellent overhead-presser...

@asianbuffalo i have been lifting since i was 21,off and on, i am now 40. seriously for the ppast 5 yr. real serious for the past 1yr. i have made more gains in the past year than in all of my training b4. i was given the secret to weightlifting. i can do 205 1 time with absolutely zero leg drive. the overhead was my weakest lift when i first started. when i started i used a 5lb weight on each side,55lb total.my goal is 225 within the next 3 months.

@tao123chi Wow,I'm so inspired to know that you've improved 150lbs in the military press over the years. It's a quintessential accomplishment in itself, and is all the more impressive when one considers that you do not, take stupid HGH or steroids. Can you share with me your secret military press routine and the forbidden lifting techniques^.^ that enables you to make such a gain? Also, how many times you train that routine per week? Thx Rod!

@asianbuffalo i will be honest. the secret to me making great gains,is "jim wendlers 5-3-1" workout, westside barbell "book of methods" and 1gal of whole milk everyday.
basically heavy weight, low reps and lots of calories.
but in all reality,i am nothing compared to the powerlifters out there.
