  • ...had a parent at my daughters school call to invite her to birthday party. They wanted us to bring my daughters Arab show mare to the party to let everyone have pony rides. I live in Canada and the party was being held in the woman's high rise apartment building, in mid-January at 5 o'clock in the evening. When I pointed out that it would be dark, not to mention about -10 and snowy and icy in the parking lot and asked her if she was nuts, she screamed at me that I was a snob!

  • @Dcup91 Its not harsh to tell somebody this ignorant that they cannot ride your horse. If somebody has a nice show horse, they would not want it ruined by letting common non-horse public riding it all the time. And also, it is true that a well-trained horse can be so in-tune to aids that it becomes dangerous for beginners or non-horse public to "play around" on. Good for you that you have play horses for common public, but this is not too harsh, its reality for many people, myself included.

  • @iamsherii2 That is so unfair!

  • Isnt it the horse owner whos the idiot?

  • Lol so funny

  • lmfao. so. true.

  • This is so true and also, if this person went and had indeed ridden the horse and fell off because of his stupidity and was badly injured, STILL would NOT have learned and would blame it all on the owner of the horse... So it is better to be safe than sorry from stupid people...

  • @eateetor Good for you :P My horse still has his lovely manners even after my friends have been on him.

That said, I don't just let any old nutcase on him. Like I said, as long as they listen to me, I'll let them. Usually they never get faster than a walk anyway.
