  • @DamodharanR16

Thanks so much for responding to my comments. As you said in your other comments, it seems to take a bit of trial and error and I am getting the hang of it now. Am I right in saying that you need to specify materials/mass properties for every single part in the assembly? I will keep you updated on my progress.

  • @AustinBoyle

select the material for surface contact force and leave the body force as such

    step5: run smulation

    done done done

  • @AustinBoyle

There are no mates involved in this simulation

step1: Postion the entire assembly and fix the base

step2: position the bottles (as I dont know their official names)

Note: Need to only position them and not to mate! it will take u sometime to understad the trick and practice wil give an idea about this

    step3: Activate Motion SImulation tab

    step3: Add gravity

step4: add contact and if ur aware of the body and contact force u can give them or just select the material

  • Hi there,

Could you tell me what mates and "3d contacts" you have setup in this assembly? I notice the ball starts in the air but I seem to get an error unless I start the ball in contact with the ramp. If I don't put a 3d contact the ball just falls through the ramp! Any tips greatly appreciated. Finding it hard to find any good tutorials on Solidworks motion. Thanks.
