RARE OPPORTUNITY - $16,000! Authentic 1920's polar bear skin rug in great shape and available to ship anywhere within the United States. From tail to nose the bear is 9' long. Front paw to font paw the bear is 8' 7" wide. Claws are completely intact, hide is flexible and all fur is intact. There are no worn patches of fur. The bear is believed to be shot in the spring season as the fur is somewhat yellowish. It has never been bleached. Bear needs some restoration at the head. The felt pad underneath the bear skin is sewed on but may need a few stitches as it partially folds back from one of the paws. Sale of bear comes complete with documentation stating that the bear was obtained prior to 1972 Marine Mammals Protection Act allowing for the sale within the United States. Personally, spoke with the US Fish & Wildlife Services Law Enforcement Agency to ensure that the sale is legal. I have contact info available for anyone interested. The estate executors name has been removed the proof letter for privacy. Executors name will be released with official letter at sale. The bear is available for viewing upon request in Cortland, New York.

Kandi111777, those comments are bullshit. As long as you got paper work that certifies it was killed before 1974, you can legally sell it (in the U.S. only). Also, it's worth more like $1,000 - $3,000 because of its condition

I wouldn't be surprised that you'd be arrested soon for even attempting to sell this fur without the permits for selling animal furs.

I know it's illegal in canada too, your not allowed to sell these without special permits and you need a permit to own it if you didn't hunt and shoot it, it's for anything to do with licensed game, animals like rabbits/hares and squirrels are different since they don't have a bag limit or a specific license to hunt them, so they aren't regulated as badly.
someone not too long ago got in a lot of trouble trying to sell a mounted moose head at a fleamarket, he got a heavy fine and other stuff.

You people are complete morons if you think someone is going to hand you $16,000 for it. The most you'll get for it is $800.00. I guarantee it.

Ya I'm pretty sure isn't legal. I think it's legal in Canada, but sure ain't legal in the US. Unless maybe it was before a certain year, although even then I thought it could only be sold within that state.
