It looks as if it was one of those daughters, who may have invented the portal device--in a science experiment? Maybe? Maybe not...

MAN! You should had focused on the biggest potato plant!

There's a rumor that Chell is Cave Johnson's daughter, because the big potato is signed: "Chell" and it has more information "made with daddy's lab material" or something like that... These materials were the moon rocks's that Cave ordered (I hope you have listened the recorded messages) and he soon became sick because of it and died. This leads us to think that the moon rocks speed up aging (look at the potato).

So we presume that Cave died of aging, but, what about Chell? She's grown up in Portal 1, but the stasis stoped the aging! So know she will continue aging fastly and, quoting GlaDOS: "You've got your short life left" and "You are someone else's problem know"
