I enjoy fishing for large Redears and Bluegills. During the spawning season I have caught Redears up to 1lb 1lb1/2. I am a bank fisherman so I must take advantangr of the spawning season when I can catch them in shallow water. My only hope is that thT pond where I use to fish still have those monster Redears I haven't fished there in years and the park ranger says that the pond is full of cattails so finding a clear area will be hard.

@MrRsh11 and it is always a good idea to have a net, crappie have paper thin lips so it is highly likely that if you horse it in or try to lift a heavy/jumpy fish itl tear off of your hook. plus netting makes things easier, as you never know for sure if you will get a nice bass or not. actually catching bass while crappie trolling is fairly common.

@bagrat22 not really idk if you fish much but some methods work better than others. sure gills will eat bread but it isnt natural food for them and they arent used to it so it doesnt work as well as other baits. just a little fishing fact figured u shud know. for instance if you through a bread ball at a crappie vs. a minnow, it would take the minnow every time. just like a gill would prefer a natural looking bait.
