Tales of Destiny 2 PS2 Boss 12 - Barbatos 2 (Normal)

The second battle with Barbatos, boss #12, will not end quickly as the boss has no elemental weakness, high magic defense, and is difficult to combo. Like Barbatos 1, he frequently counters item use with Shadow Edge/Bloody Cross, which can make item-based healing counter-productive since dodging the counter is virtually impossible. Barbatos 2 has an automatic counter where he will throw anyone who jumps behind him; it is possible to get behind the boss if you jump while he is stuck in spell hit frames, and this usually attracts his aggression, but it's not reliable enough to provide a distraction strategy like Barbatos 3. The best strategy is medium-length combos started by spell hit frames, but the boss really has no specific weakness to any form of attack. He will occasionally use spells like Burn Strike, but they seem to come out at random with no particular target, so you can't divert his attention that way. Average party level is 48, difficulty: normal.

Nope you are wrong MA5C. You are confused between Barbatos 2 and 3.

He is fighting Barbatos 2. Barbatos 2 only counters against items. Barbatos 3 counters against heal/cure/resurrection.

watch this video again because he never countered against Harold's cure. And I kinda need an apology from you.

one thing I noticed in this vid is Barbatos kept on countering you whenever you used items. so, if you ordered reala or harold to cure you was less risky :)
