Thailand accused of abusing boat people - 25 Jan 09

Thailand is being accused of brutally mistreating hundreds of Bangladeshi and Rohingya boat people.

Humanitarian groups say at least 300 may have drowned after being towed out to sea on boats without engines or adequate supplies.

Al Jazeera's Selina Downes has been to Thailand's Andaman coast, one of the front lines of this emerging conflict.

There were thousands of Vietnamese suffered this inhumane act of the Thai government during their stay in the refugee camps. At the same time, hong kong host the largest amount of boat people. But yet the condition in the camps in hongkong were not good, but at least no women were raped and they don't beat anyone unless you broke the rules. The difference was the guards and officials were not allowed to do such things

People who stayed in camps were treated like animals. They ate craps. Their possessions were stripped off instanly. Young girls as old as 14 were raped along with all the women in the camp. Men were regularly beaten some died from brutal beating

This April 30th will be the 36th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam war. After the war many viets fled Vietnam from communists. I want to speak out what Thai government did to Vietnamese boat people when they had their shipwreck near Thailand. Men were killed and women got raped everyday in the camps
