  • When the Great Apostasy took place nearly 2,000 years ago, the world entered a state of spiritual darkness from which it did not begin to recover until the Renaissance. Elder McConkie described the period of universal apostasy during the Middle Ages: When the gospel sun went down almost two millennia ago, when the priesthood was taken away

  • and when those on earth no longer were taught and directed by apostles and prophets, then spiritual darkness reigned. The scriptures were often kept from public use, false creeds were adopted, numerous pagans were forced to convert, and thousands of people accused of heresy were put to death.

  • Dilevsky is an example of what early Russian converts were expected to do — and did. He was called as a branch president at age 19 — missionaries aided as counselors — and several years later a temple worker to accompany Russian members traveling to the Stockholm Sweden Temple, all before serving as a missionary.

  • Peter presupposed the falling away or the APOSTACY, when he spoke of the times of refreshing that would come before God would again send JESUS CHRIST, who before was preached unto you:

Whom the heaven must recieve until the TIMES of RESTITUTION of ALL THINGS, which God hath spoken by the mouth of ALL his holy prophets since the world began.

    Acts 3:19 - 21

  • Hebrews is the only book, but it DOES show that ONE must be called of God.

All of Hebrews chapter 4 and 5 and so on.

  • The answer is the prophet was called of God and didn't change any eternal truth, but instead taught more as the Word of the LORD is eternal and unchanging.

The only time was spoken of my Isaiah 60:2 when the wicked martyred the disciples of Christ and the church unravelled at the seams.

  • How does the loss or lack of apostles negate what they already taught through the Holy Spirit? How could an almighty God whose word is His bond and who has sworn that His word will not be destroyed allow it to be corrupted? If the NT already says that salvation is by faith in Jesus alone, then how could another prophet come along and change that eternal truth? The answer is on the tip of your tongue....

  • There was never a priesthood in the church of Jesus. There is not a single reference to a Christian priesthood in the entire NT, except one place where Peter calls the church (all people, male and female) a royal priesthood, and that is not in reference to Aaron or Melchizedek at all. The book of Hebrews tells us that Jesus abolished the Aaronic or Levitical priesthood, and that Jesus alone is the only priest in the order of Melchizedek. Sorry, but you are incorrect.

  • next time try watching the video before commenting in ignorance.

  • Joseph Smith was a true prophet of Jesus Christ and was ordained with the lost priesthood.
