Hi Peoples. I'm still battling my epic vlogger's block... still hoping for a breakthrough sometime this century.

But in the meantime, here's a weird mashup I did for no good reason I can name. Just because it occurred to me, I guess.

When I ran across this dance number in the film "Hollywood Canteen" (1944), it made my jaw drop. What a freaky, proto-psychedelic mix of innocent pretenses and perverse undercurrents! Decode the pantomime and see what I mean. But also, I thought the original music was strangely bland and ill-fitted to the choreography. I don't know what cued it for me, but CCR's "Ramble Tamble" just popped into my brain as a better fit. See what you think.

  • just lovin the new bjork vid!

  • Absolutely loved it! I had just finished watching the original, and it's true - the music is not that inspiring. But with CCR, not only did I enjoy the dancing more, but I noticed the other dancers and their costumes a lot more too. I wish Joan McCracken had been in more films - I really enjoy her dancing and facial expressions!

  • Whats up bob, where u at?

  • Can anyone tell me who the lead dancer is? There are a multitude of stars in this film and I'm having trouble identifying her.

  • My bloomers, the girl's in heat! Should I feel dirty after watching this? 'Cause I sure do. :P

  • This mashup is memorizing I cant stop watching

  • That was bad ass ! At first i was like "CCR and a 40's movie ?" but it sucked me right in. Great Stuff !

  • Mickie!!!!

  • @pikez17

I understand that which is why I asked the question rather than jumping on you. I feel bad that Bob seems to feel obligated at some level to post but half of your post seemed demanding of posting and the other half seemed understanding. Of course now we are talking about Bob in front of his back (Hi Bob:). Lots of folks slow down after making so many videos and I hate they feel bad about it. It is hard to understand at one or two vids but not so hard at 100 or so (IMO).

  • This is such a bizarre scene considering this is about a real place and almost all the actors, actresses and dancers are playing themselves! That makes the jaw-drop value of this number even greater. What are all these people saying about THEMSELVES?? Now, you've done it Bob; I might have to get this movie.
