Coptic Christians make up only 10% of Egypt's population, but that is only because most of Egypt's population has been forcefully converted to Islam, either through terrorism, or by economic means, such as high taxation etc.
Coptic Christians have lived in Egypt ever since Christianity began, and used to be the majority of its people, until Islam set about its crusade to convert all of Northern Africa by the sword.
