Sean Maloney (Intel) delivers his keynote at Fall IDF 2009. In this segment, watch as Sean describes some of the interesting features of the Nehalem-EX Processor. There is also a cool demo showing how Machine Check Architecture recovers fatal errors in real time.
@freebiemadguy123 Mac is not even COMPATIBLE witth those applications.
Also then why does Apple have a Mac OS Server edition.
The OS also isn't scalable enough.
For example those applications work best with tons of network adapters, and good hard disks.
Windows controls 70% of the data center business and character-based Linux controls 29%, with others taking the rest. Apple is so irrelevant.

@Windows100000 lol. just lol. Apple do not make such a product because it wouldn't fit in their product lineup - they don't make servers for crunching or folding. this is what these type of chips would be used for - I doubt an home consumer would use a PC with more than two sockets.
I'm also currently a windows man, but please explain to me how Mac OS 10.5 and above 'cannot handle' such applications? A technical explanation perhaps?

@freebiemadguy123 I know what I'm talking about. Well my argument is concrete and that guy's argument against me is NOT.
Nehalem EX is not going to be in Mac Pros anytime soon and that's a FACT. It is TRUE that Apple's Macs never have more than 2 CPU chips in a single system while PC-OS-based servers have often 4 or more like I said. Macs also can never get 1 TB memory. Besides who listens to that pathetic market share of below 4%? Get real. Macs can't handle applications like SQL or RD server.

@Windows100000 I'd like to apologise on behalf of all windows fans. this guy clearly has no clue about what he's talking about and is spouting complete fanboy nonsense.
one again, sorry.

Macs do not deserve Intel Nehalem-EX. Besides Apple's pathetic Mac OS can't handle such a huge workload and amount of resources.
Who ever saw a Mac Pro with more than 2 sockets when servers based on PC operating systems typically have 4+? Whoever saw a Mac with a TB of RAM?
