  • The comments are annoying, obvious and the sound is awful. I had to mute the sound. The woman speaking in this voice over needs to record less close to the mic. Its very unpleasant to hear all of that...detail.

  • Sorry to hear that our comments detracted from your enjoyment of the video. That was the furthest from our intended effect. I hope it's clear that we just wanted to express our admiration for Monty and the film, as so many others have just in their comments. Thank you all for watching.

  • He was such a gorgeous man.

  • I know Monty's smile made this boy swoon ; ) It's a shame Montgomery had to leave us so soon, but I'm glad Olivia is still with us! Both are wonderful actors in a wonderful film. Nice to hear your analysis. Thanks!

  • He's my favorite movie actor, too (well, maybe he ties with Cary Grant). Clift himself never liked his performance in The Heiress, but I think it's pretty great.

  • I found it fun to listen to your comments about Clift. I'm glad you mentioned him in Judgment at Nuremberg and The Misfits; he blew me away in those roles. But I think de Havilland was great in The Heiress; I found her performance very moving.

  • It's appropriate that his accent is different - he's from a different class.

  • Sorry guys, this is my all-time favourite film, and I was hoping to LEARN something from your commentary, but all you did was state the obvious. What's the point of this exercise?

  • yeah....dopey comments...

  • I don't mind the MST3K thing, but save it for shitty movies.

    Not THIS one.

  • "Good performance", you say de Havilland gives? With this film and The Snake PIt, she proves she was one of the finest ever.

  • Your love of films comes across nicely.

Excellent effort with some keen insights as well.

    Thanks guys.

  • oh gaggggggg why'd you ruin this movie?

  • I don't mind the commentary, but I have to agree that the narration is marred by the sound of critic's saliva crackling in their mouths. Re-recording the commentary wouldn't hurt. Otherwise a good effort. The movie is top notch and everyone involved gives a solid performance, especially de Havilland.
