I. Pezzo i forma di sonatina: Andante non troppo; Allegro moderato

Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48, premiered in 1880, remains today one of the late Romantic era's most definitive compositions.

In his score, Tchaikovsky supposedly wrote, "The larger the string orchestra, the better will the composer's desires be fulfilled."

Serenade for Strings has 4 movements:

I. Pezzo i forma di sonatina: Andante non troppo; Allegro moderato; this was an homage to Mozart
II. Valse: Moderato; Tempo di valse
III. Élégie: Larghetto elegiaco
IV. Finale (Tema russo): Andante; Allegro con spirito

  • @leholmes19 are you a man? If so you had a chance.

  • I would have legit married this man if I was alive in the 1800's and Russian.

  • I cant believe I really have to learn how to play this piece on violin. Im so excited!

  • I've listened to Tchaikovsky for about 30 years, seen concerts, bought CDs, been to ballets, but I'd never heard this piece. I'm three minutes in -on my first listen- and I think it's amazing.
