My shelties are nine, thirteen and still going strong although the older one is losing his sight... They love and keep you smiling right up to the time they pass along the rainbow bridge.

My dog Taffy was half mini collie and half sheltie and she died back in 1996 at the ripe old age of 15 years old in her sleep. She was like a little sister to me and a big part of our family. We even have a monument(headstone) for her in our garden with her picture on it. Rest in peace my Taffy(1981-1996).

I feel your pain. Me and my family had to put or 10 yr old sheltie Buddy down about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately he had cancer, and he started to shut down and quit eating. But they are GREAT dogs and Im sure you had just as much fun as we did with ours.

My dog as a kid was a sheltie she lived to be almost 16 probably would have lived longer if she hadn't had to be put down after falling off our deck and paralyzing her back half. She ate a very cheep brand of food but was aloud out to run and exercise a lot I now have two 1 year old shelties and hope to have them just as long <3
