What the hell does "European" sound like? Does Spanish, French, German, Swedish etc all sound the same to you??
Irish & Scots Gaelic, along with Welsh & Breton make up the living Celtic language group; English, Dutch, Danish etc are in the Germanic group! They are quite separate, and only distantly related.

@jayyim123 The Irish language is a Gaelic language. The English sounding words you here are basically new words that there was no Irish word for so we just invented one for example television in Irish is Teilifis
