White Pine Pictures principal Peter Raymont has spent the last 38 years making documentary films.
In part one of this two part National Screen Institute interview, Peter looks back on how he got started in the business and some of the award-winning programs he has made. He also discusses the documentary film process, from finding great characters and stories and making the most of surprises during shooting, through to editing. He also talks about the resurgence in popularity of theatrical documentary films.
