Here is my video comparing my newly acquired WH1 whammy pedal with my older WH4 whammy pedal.

My WH-4 has been modified for true-byass as found here:
http://www.rodrigoconstanzo.com/wh4

The WH-1 is running through a true-bypass looper to make things fair.

Which one sounds better? It's a tough call. Much closer than most people would have you believe.

  • the whammy 4 is recomended for people with bigger feat, they should have a little tag on both of the pedal boxes, whammy 1...made for people with shoe sizes 9 and below...whammy 4 made for people with shoe sizes 10 and up...lol

  • @JoeMan352 just be glad I put shoes on!

  • Excellent demo but the camera makes your foot look like Side Show BOB

  • @paulgaudinjrBCN That's not the camera. I've got a big foot!

  • i dont get it i have the wh-4 and ive used it for the last 6 years!! ive never had to calibrate it. it works perfect. the only thing is i have to tighten up the pedal once a year and thats it. ive seen other people say the same thing about needing to calibrate theres. so whats the deal??

  • @harrisonrg777 If the pedal gets banged around or moved, then it usually needs to be calibrated, otherwise the extreme of the settings (heel down, toe down) are not perfectly in tune.

You only need to calibrate it when those aren't in tune.

  • By the reviews I'd always read, the WH-1 sounded like it was night and day different to the WH-4 but I really think the reissue held its own!

I like the glitchy decay of my WH-4. When paired with delay and other effects, the odd electronic warbling decay is beautiful. To each their own :-)

  • ..and I didn't realize the WH-1 was so small! I'd still rather the WH-1 based on cosmetics alone. but it seems to has a less offensive digital sound.

  • I have 4... I want 1.

  • and the detune is better on the original

  • the whammy iv tracks low octaves better, but the whammy 1 harmonizes and tracks octaves up better

but fuuuuuck i did not realize how small it was hhaha

  • Did anyone notice on the Morrello AS solo, the WH-1 kind of peaked? Just curious if anyone else saw that

  • Excellent demo, actually answered all my questions... And thank u so much for finally playing those covers correctly lol u dnt kno how many youtube demoers hav tried most of those songs and failed miserably
