In 2010 a group of 21 undergraduates from the Lyman Briggs residential College of Science at Michigan State University participated in a summer Study Abroad Program in Paris on language, art and science (http://www.msu.edu/~luckie/paris/ ). This student-made documentary film examines how their experience of french culture changes depending in diet. What's the cuisine like from the perspective of a vegetarian versus and meat eater. What's the cost, availability, and cultural acceptance of vegetarians in France? The group of students were comprised of both omnivores and vegetarians and all of them together experienced a week living a pure vegetarian lifestyle and one as a meat eater. The inspiration for this project comes from Morgan Spurlock, the mastermind behind the film "SuperSize Me" and the sitcom "30 Days" on FX where people live the life or lifestyle of another to gain an understanding of what it is like to "live 30 days in someone else's shoes."
