  • i dont think thats a Golden silk spider, its looks more like a banana spider, seeing from the sharp tip legs

  • This is a golden silk spider. Most people call them Banana Spiders because of their yellow bodies. They weave very strong webs which look like gold thread in the sunshine. That's why they are called Golden Silk Spiders.

  • I just learned something. Back home in Louisiana, we refer to them as Banana spiders as well. Never knew them before as a Golden Silk spider! They say you learn something new everyday. I read somewheres that their bite is no more potent than that of a bee sting? I know for shure their webs are really strong. I ran into plenty of them. Thanks for posting this fascinating creature!
