This was my attempt at a video review of the Dell Axim x50v,
It is a very good Pocket PC and I would recomend it for anyone who is in the market for a handheld. While using the x50v with Windows Mobile 6 I found there to be some very annoying flaws.
The main flaw is that the wi-fi cannot hold a connection, it can but sometimes it likes to drop and then you cannot access the internet. This is very annoying but then again it works perfectly fine other times.

The Axim x50v also has many positive features, for instanace it is a very fast Pocket PC (624MHz), it has the ability to be expanded to over 32gb

  • So is mobile windows 5 better/quicker?

  • @Fishpigg

Right now i am using a x51v, my honest opinion between both devices is that windows 6.1 is the best, the reason the wifi keeps cutting out in this video is because there is a patch for 6.1 that is impossible to find, i luckly came across it one day. The only reason to use wm 5 on the x50v is cause the hardware is different so it might have an edge on the older model.

It works both ways, much better with the stylus mostly cause the buttons in windows mobile are very small

  • @jogoslogo

Please may i ask whether or not using the stylus is imperative? I'm considering purchasing this product but i hate the idea of using a stylus. does the touchscreen work well with just a finger?

    Thanks.

  • i bought 2

  • Would I be able to download a program onto this? The only reason i need a device like this is to load a ballistic program onto it for long range rifle shooting. And also what is the battery life like? I would use something like this for increments of time over days without any access to electricity. Would this fit my needs?
