Pat Gibson's COMPLETE RUN - Part 1

This is one of those rare times when I appreciate reruns

Patrick Gibson was born and educated in Ireland but has lived in the United Kingdom for many years, and has represented England in the European Quizzing Championships since 2005. He is a multiple quiz show winner and a panellist on the series Eggheads.

On 24 April 2004 he became the fourth contestant to win the £1m jackpot on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. He was the first person in the United Kingdom to reach the one million pound question with two lifelines remaining. He used his Ask-the-Audience on the £64,000 question, and kept 50:50 and phone a friend back until the final question.

Pat really does seem to be an incredibly decent chap. Very gentle, subtle sense of humour. On Mastermind he answered specialist rounds on "quentin tarrentino films" and "the great mathematicians" among other diverse topics.

Love the quip he made about (briefly) earning money faster than Chris round about the £500k mark lol.

When I first watched this, I didn't think Pat would get very far. On the first few questions I noticed him hesitating before answering each one, which made me question his intelligence. But then I realised after he had won the million, that he was simply taking his time, reading each question carefully and considerately. A true champion!

Pat is a legend in his own right, but for taking out that smarmy grey haired, intolerable dick on Are You An Egghead final, he will be up there with my heroes. It's quite funny to watch that episode just for the slight expressions on the Eggheads faces, obviously mentally spurring Pat on so they don't have to work with his pompous, boring beyond belief, opponent.

@danieldunican mainly pat as I played agains't him and lost, but also Judith as she was the only one of their eggheads that lost their head to head. So we chatted to her backstage as they battled it out in the final. We nailed them though with 2 of our dudes vs 4 of them in the final!
